This Friday, November 1, is Extra Mile Day. This is a chance for residents to "go the extra mile" and also recognize other individuals and organizations that do the same. Here is the text of the official proclamation: WHEREAS, Brigham City, Utah is a community that acknowledges that a special vibrance exists within the entire community when its individual citizens collectively "go the extra mile" in personal effort, volunteerism, and service; and WHEREAS, Brigham City, Utah is a community that encourages its citizens to maximize their personal contribution to the community by giving of themselves wholeheartedly and with total effort, commitment, and conviction to their individual ambitions, family, friends, and community; and WHEREAS, Brigham City, Utah is a community that chooses to shine a light on and celebrate individuals and organizations within its community who "go the extra mile" in order to make a difference and lift up fellow members of their community; and WHEREAS, Brigham City, Utah acknowledges the mission of the Extra Mile America Foundation to create 200 Extra Mile cities and states in America and is proud to support "Extra Mile Day" on November 1, 2024. NOW THEREFORE, I, Mayor Dennis J Bott and the City Council of Brigham City, Utah, do hereby proclaim November 1, 2024, to be Extra Mile Day. I urge each individual in our community to take time on this day to not only "go the extra mile" in his or her own life, but to also acknowledge all those around who are inspirational in their efforts and commitment to make their organizations, families, community, country, or world a better place. LAST WEEK of double trash pickup ! Leave your cans out the weekday after your regular day for a second pickup. All cans need to be on the curb by 6:00AM. If your regular day is Friday, put your cans out again on Monday. If your regular day is Monday, put your cans out again on Tuesday. If your regular day is Tuesday, put your cans out again on Wednesday. If your regular day is Wednesday, put your cans out again on Thursday. Brigham City would like to remind the community that beginning Friday, Nov 1, 2024, the Compost Site will change their gate hours to Tuesday – Friday 8AM to 5PM for the Winter Season. During winter hours, we will be CLOSED on Saturdays. ***UPDATE*** Power has been restored to all homes and businesses. If you are still out of power, please contact the Power department at 435-734-6624. ****UPDATE*** Power has been restored to a portion of the outage, but a cutout needs to be replaced to finish the repairs. Power is estimated to be out for approximately another hour.*** Brigham City Public Power is aware of a power outage in the Northeast side of town. Our crews are on their way to troubleshoot . Any updates will be posted on the Brigham City App and Brigham City Facebook page.

The flyers left on many garbage cans after pickup today are NOT from Brigham City and it is NOT a city-sponsored program. We are working to identify the person or organization distributing these flyers to make sure in the future they comply with city ordinances.
