Error Regarding Garbage Collection:
There was a misprint on residents' Utility Bill this month. Spring Double Trash Pick-up is scheduled for Monday, April 14, 2025 - Friday, April 25, 2025. We are sorry for any inconvenience this typo may have caused.
Residents of the community may place their black and green cans (blue recycle cans are not part of this), out the day after their normal garbage collection to receive an extra pickup during the week .
April 14th is the first day of double pickup for those with Friday garbage collection and April 25th is the last day of double pickup for those with Thursday garbage collection.
Questions may be referred to the Public Works Administrative Offices at 435-734-6615.

Just FYI... A statewide TEST of the AMBER Alert system will take place this afternoon (Thursday, April 3) sometime between 4:00 and 4:30 p.m. The test is part of an upgrade to align the system with national standards and verify its integration with FEMA's Emergency Alert System (EAS).
* A TEST AMBER Alert notification will be sent to mobile devices, TV, radio, and highway message boards statewide.
* The alert will include a distinct tone and vibration on mobile devices, similar to a real AMBER Alert.
* The message will clearly state that this is a TEST and that no action is required.
Testing ensures that in the event of a real emergency, alerts will be delivered without issue.

Residents along Box Elder Creek may notice it running higher than it has been, even though we aren't experiencing runoff yet. Public Works crews are drawing Mantua Reservoir down even further due to recent increases in snowpack water, and that is allowing our power department to run the hydropower generators at full capacity.
After the water has been used to generate power, it is sent down the creek, which results in higher water levels than you might have been seeing. This will continue at least until runoff begins, at which time conditions will be evaluated and generation will be adjusted accordingly.

We've started a new system of providing updates to residents when their power is out. We're now able to target messages directly to the people affected, but it only works if we have the right contact information for you!
We will no longer post information about outages on social media. Information will be sent by text, email, and phone to those affected and will also be posted in the Live Feed section of our website and app. If you need to update your phone number or provide an email address to receive these updates, contact our Utilities department at 435-734-6639.
Information about road closures and and other Public Works reminders will still be posted to Facebook.

300 South will be closed this morning between 400 West and 500 West while we repair a water main. Questions can be addressed to Public Works at 435-734-6615.

The power department is aware of a power outage in the Southeast and Southwest area of town. Crews are currently working on the outage. We will send an update as more information comes available.
