Brigham City residents and visitors will celebrate Peach Days this year under an upgraded Brigham Gateway Arch.
Work will begin August 1 on upgrading the lights on the Brigham Arch over Main Street from neon to LED. Traffic will be impacted for about two weeks as the inside/left lanes will be closed during working hours.
For those traveling north, they will need to merge to the right beginning at about Smith’s and ending just north of the arch. Those traveling south will be directed to the right in front of the Brigham Academy Center until just south of the arch. Drivers will still be able to turn onto and off of Main Street at Forest Street and 100 South.
The arch will stay in place during the renovation. The existing neon glass tubes will be removed and then the sign will undergo repairs and be painted. Finally, the new LED lights will be installed. Work is expected to be completed August 15.
