The Planning and Zoning component of Community Development performs a variety of services intended to protect, maintain, and develop an attractive, safe, and healthy environment. Primary functions address property development and land use activities occurring within the City. Planning and Zoning is also responsible for the direction and leadership in implementing the goals, objectives, and policies of the orderly development of the City and the administration of various land use ordinances, zoning, and subdivision ordinances as well as providing technical assistance and Staff support to the City Council, Planning Commission, and Appeal Authority.
