What Is Meals on Wheels?
Meals on Wheels delivers hot, nutritious noontime meals to eligible residents with the help of many volunteers. The bright smile and friendly greeting from the delivery volunteer is often as nourishing as the meal.
Who Is Eligible to Receive Meals on Wheels?
If you have a loved one or neighbor 60 years of age or older who is home bound, physically challenged, or recuperating, Meals on Wheels can help.
What Kind of Meals Are Served?
Meals are prepared and packed at Brigham City Senior Center by our trained staff. Each meal provides one-third of the minimum daily nutritional requirements for adults. Meals are low in salt and lightly seasoned.
When Are Meals Delivered?
Meals are delivered Monday through Friday between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Frozen meals are available for weekends or holidays.
State health laws prohibit us from leaving a meal if you are not home. Part of the service offered by Meals on Wheels is the daily visit to see that you are in good health and safe from harm. Please let us know before 9:00 a.m. if you will not be at home to receive your meal.
How Do I Arrange Delivery for Myself or Someone Else?
Anyone can make a referral by calling the Brigham City Senior Center at (435) 226-1454 between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. and the Meal & Service Coordinator will assess the need for service.
